Select Whole life

Plan provides permanent life insurance at a guaranteed level premium. Plans also offer guaranteed cash value, paid-up insurance values, in addition to dividends which can accumulate at interest or purchase paid-up insurance.

Yearly Renewable Term/10 Year Level Term/20 Year Renewable

Plans provide low-cost term protection to cover debts such as: mortgage, installment loans, credit cards, college education cost, monthly family income and final expenses. These plans can be converted to a permanent life insurance plan during the conversion period.

One Pay Life

Plan provides permanent life insurance coverage with one single premium. Plan offers guaranteed cash values and dividends. Dividends will increase the total amount payable at death to help keep up with inflation.

Flexible Premium Annuities

Plans provide an excellent way for you to save money over the years for future retirement needs or emergencies. Interest accumulates tax-deferred, and will provide a guaranteed life income at retirement. Currently our tax-qualified IRA’s and Roth IRA’s as well as our Non-qualified plans are paying interest rates of 4.50% on accounts with balances from $1.00 to $25,000.00. and 4.75% on accounts with balances of $25,001.00 or more.

Accident and Sickness Disability

Plan provides an income for disabilities caused by injury or sickness, on or off duty, and additional income for hospitalization during the first 30 days. Several benefit options are available to meet your financial needs. One popular feature of the Accident and Sickness Policy will return all premiums if you go claim-free for ten years or attain age 55, whichever comes first.

Coverage is provided to help pay for treatment of accidental injuries suffered on- or off-duty, and includes accidental death, dismemberment, and hospital confinement.

Membership Policy

Plan provides benefits for accidental death for Police Officer or Firefighter on or off-duty. Family Coverage is also available. Coverage depends on policy purchased and age of member.

Optional Benefits

Waiver of Premium

This benefit provides waiver of premium on the insured to age 55, after a six-month waiting period of continued disability.

Guaranteed Purchase Options

This benefit provides the option to increase coverage on your life insurance policy. Option dates are the anniversary date following ages 25, 28, 31, 34, 37, and 40. Alternative option dates are within 60 days following marriage or birth of child. No evidence of insurability or occupation is required.

Children's Benefit

This benefit provides $1,000.00 of level term insurance on the life of each child between the age of 15 days and 23 years. Each Child may convert to a permanent plan of insurance which will be five times the amount of coverage without evidence of insurability at age 23.

25-Year Level Term Rider

Issue age 20-40 years of age. The minimum issue is $50,000.00 and must be attached to a minimum $25,000.00 Select Whole Life policy (can be issued on a 10 to 1 basis with permanent plans). Rider cannot be renewed, but rider can be converted to a Select Whole Life policy prior to expiration of the rider.

Other Insured Rider

Issue ages are 20-40 years of age. The minimum issue is $25,000.00 and must be attached to a minimum $25,000.00 Select Whole Life policy that has a 25-Year Level Term Rider. Other Insured Rider expires when 25-Year Level Term Rider on primary insured expires. Rider may be converted at anytime within the 25 year period, or immediately prior to expiration date. Upon death of primary insured, this rider can be converted to a whole life policy within 60 days following date of death without evidence of insurability.

Scholarship Program

Police and Firemen's Insurance has awarded 1309 scholarships since 1987, totaling over $3,389,000.00, to children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren of Police Officers and Firefighters across the United States.The Scholarships are $1,000.00 per year for up to four years of undergraduate study.

 

Orphan's Income Benefit/ Orphan's Scholarship Program

The Orphaned Children of Police and Firemen's Insurance Association are eligible to receive up to $24,000 each in fraternal income benefits, plus $2,000 per year in fraternal scholarship benefits for four years of undergraduate study.

 

Family Fraternal Benefit

Provides $5,000 in fraternal insurance protection for children of members from their eighth through their 59th day of life, plus guarantees the insurability of the children for $10,000 at the 60th day of life.

 

Reward Fund

Up to $2,500 in rewards will be paid to persons providing information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the death or permanent disability of a Police and Firemen's Insurance Association

Memorial Fund

Police and Firemen’s Insurance Association will contribute a fraternal benefit of $2,000 to a member and $1,000 to a non-member who is killed in the line of duty.  The fraternal benefit is paid to the surviving families of Police Officers and Fire Fighters in their established sections.

 

Heroes Hall of Fame

Special Recognition to Police Officers and Fire Fighters for their heroic actions to save the lives of others while risking their own.

 

In the Spirit of Brotherhood

Fraternal donations are given to help those in need through participation in fund raisers in local departments

 

The PFIA Protector

The protector is the official publication of Police and Firemen's Insurance Association. Each issue highlights activities of Police and Fire departments across the country.

The PFIA Protector is published quarterly by the Police and Firemen's Insurance Association. Executive and editorial offices are located at 101 East 116th Street, Caramel, Indiana 46032. Annual Subscription rates for nonmembers, $10; $15 foreign. Single copies, $5.
